How to use Zoho OneAuth

Here are the two options for using Zoho OneAuth: Smart Sign-in and TOTP. Please choose the one that best suits your preference.

Smart Sign-in

Smart Sign-in provides a secure and seamless way to access your Zoho account by simply scanning a QR code with the Zoho OneAuth application. There is no need to enter your username or password.
  1. In Zoho’s sign-in page, click “Try smart sign-in”.

  2. A QR code will be displayed. Make sure to click “Expand” so the QR code can be easily recognized.

Note: Smart Sign-in works best on the Chrome browser.

  3. Open your Zoho OneAuth application and click “Smart sign-in”.

  4. You may choose to either share your window or share your display.

  5. Scan the QR code.

Time-based One-Time Passcode (TOTP)

TOTP is a two-factor authentication (2FA) method used to enhance the security of user accounts. It generates a unique, temporary code that changes every ‘n’ seconds. This code is used in addition to the standard username and password during the login process.
  1. Enter your email address and click “Next”.

  2. Click the pop-up notification that will appear in the lower-right corner of your screen.

Note: If you do not receive a pop-up notification, you can open your Zoho OneAuth directly and click "View OTP", and then proceed to STEP #4.

  3. Your Zoho OneAuth application will automatically open with the sign-in request prompt. Click “VIEW OTP”.

  4. Click on the TOTP to copy it, or manually type it into the designated field. Click “Verify”.

Push Notification

This is a secure way to authenticate users accessing Zoho applications by sending a push notification to your work device.
  1. Enter your email address and click “Next”.

  2. Click the pop-up notification that will appear in the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select the correct number.

Lock Period Policy

As a part of our security measures, your account will be locked after a maximum of 5 invalid sign-in attempts. Once this limit is reached, you will be locked out for 30 minutes and unable to sign in during that time. Your account will automatically unlock once the lockout period has elapsed.
