Backup Verification Codes


These are codes that can be used to recover your Zoho account if you lose access or have issues signing in using MFA.


How to generate backup verification codes


  1. Go to accounts.zoho.com and login your Zoho account.





  1. Navigate to Multi-Factor Authentication > MFA Recovery Options, then under Backup verification codes click on Generate New Codes.





  1. Click on Download to save them as a text file.






How to use backup verification codes


  1. Login to your Zoho Account at people.zoho.com, then click Sign in or Sign in another way, depending if you have already configured an alternate MFA mode or not.





  1. Click on Problem signing in? > Can’t access your device? > Use backup verification code.












  1. Click on Use backup verification code then enter the 12-digit backup code that you have from the downloaded text file. Then click on Verify.
